Completing an Application Form
The first stage of our recruitment process is to complete our online application form. Whilst additional sheets or supplementary information may accompany your application form, please note that CVs alone will not be considered. Prospective applicants are advised that the closing time for all our vacancies is 12pm (midday) on the stated closing date.
The short-listing panel will assess applications against the demonstrable key skills, knowledge and experience as set out in the Role Description for the post you have applied for. When completing the application form please ensure that you address these areas in your application, particularly the essential criteria, giving examples to demonstrate how you meet the required criteria.
If you would like this application form and job pack in any other format, including Braille, please contact the HR Team on jobs@neu.org.uk
Shortlisting stage
All received applications will be reviewed and shortlisted by a shortlisting panel who will only have access to anonymised application forms. The make-up of the shortlisting panel will depend on the grade and nature of the role, in line with the NEU Recruitment Policy.
The NEU is a member of the ‘Disability Confident’ Scheme and as a Committed member we will guarantee an interview to any applicants who declares a disability and demonstrates that they meet all essential criteria for the role they are applying for. Find our more about Disability Confident at: www.gov.uk/disability-confident
If your application is unsuccessful, we will contact you to let you know, however please be advised that – due to the volume of applications we receive, we are unable to provide feedback to external applicants who are not shortlisted for interview.
Interview stage
Applicants who are successful at the shortlisting stage will be invited to a face to face interview, at which stage we will discuss aspects of your application in detail, and will further assess your suitability to the role.
Our interview stage may also require applicants to undertake a written test and/or presentation, details of which will either be provided to applicants in advance, or on the day, depending on the type of assessment being carried out.
However, in all circumstances, candidates will be advised at the point of invite to interview, if a test (or a combination of tests, e.g. an Assessment Centre) will be conducted as part of the recruitment process.
All candidates attending interviews/Assessment Centres will be offered feedback, on request.
